One of the reasons I decided to make this business a private training program is the customers of group lessons have many times complained to me that their dogs mind at the store or training center but not at home, at the park or walking down their street. I want to train in the dogs own environment so you get the results you want at home and in your neighborhood, not just at the store or arena. Your dog lives with you and your family at home and this is where she misbehaves mostly so this is where dog or puppy training is most effective. After learning in your home, without the distraction of other dogs or stresses we will go on field trips around real distractions! The field trip destinations will be determined by the client and the trainer. I love training dogs and it shows I consistently exceed our clients and our training goals.
By the time your Beginner or Puppy lessons are finished your dog will probably be half way through most intermediate training courses. After graduating the Intermediate and Advanced training courses your dog should be ready to take and pass the Canine Good Citizen test. Of course pet training is not just about the pet, you have to be trained as well. I will be training you how to train your dog and your consistency is very important. I know that won’t be a problem because training with us is fun! Dogs really are our best friends. Semi private Group lessons we will meet 3 times at your house and three times as a group the 7th class never expires and will be completed where and when you choose. Group Classes are offered as Puppy, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes.Intermediate Group Class All ages Graduates of any Puppy or Beginner Classes or equivalently trained at home
In the Intermediate class your dog will develop a stay of at least 5 min. out of sight with some distractions, heel, and leash manners like sitting to greet new people, stand, listening and, if you are comfortable with it, coming off leash. Behavior problems and problem prevention are included with this and all of our training, barking, jumping, chewing, nipping, digging, anxiety etc...
The Intermediate Class is a 6 week course of 1-1&1/2 hour classes one day a week. The first 2 classes will be at your house, the next 2 class will be a group meeting, the 5th class will be at your house again and the 6th class is a group lesson and graduation. The 7th and final class will be when and where you want it’s at your discretion to use the class or you may put it toward taking Advanced classes. When we meet as a group we will either meet at a park or our farm. The Matkin Cove farm is in Laceys Spring and there we have almost 400 acres to practice and train. The drawback of course is the weather so group classes will be postponed if it rains or it is bitterly cold. We will soon have an indoor area to train in those circumstances but for now…
